Anhedonia: Introduction
Lack of pleasure in acts that are normally pleasurable is known as anhedonia. It can either occur as a result of adverse effects of certain medications or can be linked with emotional, physical stress. It is generally not a disturbing factor unless and until it becomes so much aggravated and a person if suffering at mental and physical levels. It can be a cause towards depression or can also occur in patients who already are suffering from depression or any other psychiatric conditions. Lack of pleasure brings a lack of satisfaction, which further leads to an unhappy person. A person who is not happy either in the workplace, home or society can not progress neither mentally, nor emotionally and not spiritually. Nor can such a person provide any positivity in anyone's life. Such a person is not a burden, as some may consider, but such a person needs help at many levels.
